Those were just fake smiles in the first picture. I would have been so grumpy and would have wanted to come home. They are good troops! Now they know how it felt to be a pioneer except they weren't pregnant and didn't have to have a baby out in the mud and cold wondering if they would live.
What an experience that must have been, I can't wait to hear about all the 'FUN' they had!
