The Marines have what is called a mess night, it's a dinner where most of them get drunk and you have to pay fines for silly things like, Dean doesn't drink, so he gets fined. Dean said the food was really good, the room was filled with smoke from cigars and cigarettes and the people were idiots. Drunk Marines, not fun. But he is excited that he is almost done!
