Middle Canyon

Travis and family came for a visit a few days before the Ruby Reunion this summer. One evening we went up Middle Canyon, just about 20 minutes from the house. They brought all the cool toys, we took up the great dinner, dutch oven lasagna and smores. Little Lucas was all ready to go, even if no one else was.
Sydney and Makenna ready to take off. Not really, where's your helmets girls?
Dean playing around on Brian's bike. Later in the evening he was riding Travis' bike and took a spill. Thought his wrist was broken, but just a really bad sprain. Guess the training wheels didn't teach him anything.
Safety is no accident.

I'm Strawberry, Dean's Vanilla....

Your personality is as friendly and appealing as strawberry ice cream (especially the kind with chunky bits of real fruit). You've got a slightly sarcastic sense of humor, and you rarely stress out or take things too seriously. You are cute and sweet, but with a mischievous side. You are a bit of a troublemaker, but only because you're determined to avoid a plain vanilla life.

Scarey how much it sounds like me!!!!

Dean is vanilla.....

You're as popular and relaxing as vanilla ice cream. You go with the flow, and get along with all sorts of people. You appreciate peace and simplicity, so you sometimes find crowds and loud noises overwhelming. You are a chilled-out, calming influence on the people in your life, and your friends appreciate how supportive and flexible you are.

What's your flavor?

If it weren't for bad luck....

So they say bad luck comes in 3's, so we should be done!!!! First, Dean lost his wedding ring in the Salmon River. The only time he has had it off for a long period of time in the past 15 1/2 years, is when he was at boot camp.

Second, our house air conditioner broke. The fan motor went out. Utah summer's are HOT!!
Third, Dean's car was broken into, sitting in front of our house. The thing that kills me is since our AC was broken, our windows were open and I'm pretty sure I heard them about 2:30am. I thought it was the boys up and I laid in bed thinking if they talk one more time, and I have to get up, I'm going to hurt them. Of course then it was quiet. Plus, I had to get up at 5am for a temple trip, and I need my beauty sleep. Makenna and I got up to leave and Dean's car door was open. They took his workout bag, that had his brand new running shoes and shorts in it, some CD's and sunglasses.

Playing with the camera

A few weeks ago, I was out BBQing dinner and the sunset was gorgeous. I had Caden come out and stand in the weeds behind our house so I could play around with the camera.
I love this one. He is such a cute kid. To bad he can be such a booger head.
But we love him anyway.

Challis

We went camping in Challis, Idaho, (on the east side of the Sawtooth Mountains). It was a Marine training weekend and families were invited. Friends brought their ATV's and if the kids could have slept on them, they would have.
All the kids learned how to drive them!!! Now they want their own!!
There are natural hot springs that they pump cold water into, because they are too hot. It rained while we were there, but we just went swimming. Sorry, no swimsuit shots, to good looking for the camera. HEHEHEHE
This is a picture Rhett took of the Salmon River. It was really beautiful and cold. Dean's wedding ring is somewhere at the bottom, or inside a fish. He went rafting with some Marines and their boat tipped. In the business of getting people out, and holding on to the raft his wedding ring slipped off. Someday, he'll have to tell you the story. After I got over the sentimental feelings about his ring, I was able to laugh, because it's a pretty funny story.

While there, the Marines have an Eco-Challenge. The different recruiting stations and headquarters, compete against each other in different events. Pull-ups,

target shooting, running, those pictures were to explicit to post. :0

And rafting the river.

The winning team, Headquarters!!!!!

Fort Smith

You've heard of all those famous Civil War Forts-Fort Sumter, Bunker Hill. They have nothing on Fort Smith-Generals Rhett, Caden and Hailey are ferocious. Glad someone is keeping us safe here in the wilds of Utah.
